Simplifying Your Greens in the Landscape
80 minutes

How to Construct Paintings Step By Step
60 minutes

The Master Package includes two full length demos and the additional video: How to Construct Paintings Step by Step.

The first full length demo, Painting mountains and rocks, is a great video where I combine these two wonderful subjects into one painting.  Often painters have problems simplifying these difficult shapes in nature but I will show you it is not as hard as it seems.

I will show you how to capture the essence of rocks and the distant receding mountains with ease.  I will cover some basic principles to my approach and share with you my color palette.  Then I will explain how and when to use hard edges and soft edges to engage the viewer.  Show you why rocks have to have certain elements in them to make them look and appear as a hard surface. With mountains, I will explain my color combinations and philosophies regardless if you paint the Rocky Mountains or just distant hills in your own home town.

The second full length video, Simplifying your Greens in the Landscape, is where I explain how to approach greens in the landscape. To often painters buy premixed greens because they are either pretty or someone said they should have them on their palette when painting the landscape. I believe this gets you in trouble. Greens in the landscape lean toward warm or cool and sometimes anything in between. This makes them rather tricky, but not impossible to master. From years of painting outdoors, I have learned how to control my greens and capture them in natural light. I cover in detail, simplifying your palette, hue vs natural pigment, keeping colors clean, bringing sunlight into your painting, brushwork & edges, refining, and focal point.

Then to finish this full package you also receive: How to Construct Paintings Step by Step this is where I demonstrate and talk you through 3 separate paintings. I show each step of the process to completion all while explaining why and how it happens. (see paintings above )
